Senate Gridlock Prevents U.S. Job Creation

If you do not have a job, there a good reason for it.  Gridlock in Washington.  Actually part of Washington.  Florida Congressman Allen West (R-FL)sent out an alert on his Congressional web site on the status of bills that would reduce business regulation and create an environment where Americans can invest capital and create jobs.

But Harry Reid wants nothing to do with it.  See the gridlock here, or copied below.

Americans are out of work, and good chance based on the reported unemployment rates you or someone you know is.  As you can see where the gridlock is, lighting up your U.S. Senator's phones is the only way to get them to do their job.  Actually the job we sent them to do for us.

If your Senator refuses to take action and is up for re-election in 2012, do what you can to replace them with someone who will uphold the U.S. Constitution and put the office above themselves.   The seat belongs to the public, not the officeholder.  Remember, elections matter and you can change the outcome of the election if you put your mind and heart into it.

Obama's War on Religion

Governor Rick Perry was right.  Obama definitely has a war on a religion.  But what is surprising is that he brought this on during an election year. Then again, no one said he was smart.

Obama Overturns 'Mexico City Policy' Implemented by Reagan

From the moment President Barack Obama took the oath, he he has had a war with established religion.  Let's not forget that President Obama overturned the Mexico City policy just three days after his inauguration.  The Mexico City policy, originally implemented by former President Ronald Reagan back in 1984.  Proposed in Mexico City, the rule prohibited (taxpayer-funded) federal funding for family planning services to clinics or groups that offered abortion-related services overseas, even if funding for those activities came from non-government sources.  And thus, all American taxpayers now pay for abortions globally as directed by the Obama Administration.

As an aside, former President Bill Clinton overturned this policy as well back in 1993 and former President George W. Bush re-instated back in 2001.

Obama Signs Health Care Reform Legislation that Funds Abortions

The topic on the constitutionality of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is a battle in and of itself, but another battle exists - violation of the conscience clause.  Make no mistake, the health care reform legislation great expands abortion and funding of abortion.  Under the guise that abortion and contraception is health care, the legislation puts no restrictions on abortion and contraception "health care" services.

Since the act is funded through general appropriations and not through Health and Human Services funding it circumvents the Hyde Amendment.  The Hyde Amendment had prevent federal insurance plans from funding abortions.  By creating state health care exchanges, state exchanges are not bound by the Hyde Amendment and based on the original intent of the legislation will most certainly fund abortions.

The health care legislation also redefined the meaning of "preventative care" to ensure that abortion funding would be added.  The "preventative care" redefinition also requires private health care plans to accommodate preventative care procedures.  The catch is that the federal government decides what it is.  So regardless if the plan came from the state health care exchanges or through a private health care plan, abortion would need to be covered.  And thus the patient would be paying for coverage that violates their religious conscience.

Obama Administration Repeals 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

Abortion is not the only issue the Obama Administration redefined.  The Administration pushed for and won the debate on repealing the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' policy.  The policy instituted by the Clinton Administration  prohibited discrimination on closet homosexual and bisexual applicants, but barred openly homosexual or bisexual members from enlisting in the military.  While not ideal for the military, it was a policy that worked.

That however was unacceptable to the President Obama.  An issue from the 2008 Presidential campaign, Obama promised a full repeal of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'.  The repeal was initiated when President Obama make the issue a promise in his 2010 State of the Union address.  The legislation was passed in both chambers of Congress and signed by Obama in December 2011.  The repeal of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' was completed in September 2011 after Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta certified the repeal to Congress.

The new military is now one where religious faithful men and woman in uniform must serve with openly homosexual or bisexual fellow soldiers.  Military chaplains must also serve and minister to behavior that their faith teaches as immoral.  Once again, President Obama put political ideology over religious freedom.  But remember, he does not care.

President Obama Forces the Faithful to Violate their Conscience by Mandating Contraception Funding

The latest assault on religion came this month when the Obama Administration instituted a policy forcing religious institutions to provide for health care coverage of contraception.  By far, this has been the most egregious affront to religious liberty as it forces Jewish and Christian churches, synagogues, schools and hospitals to violate the tenants of their faith and fund contraceptive services and devices.

What President Obama was not prepared for was the public backlash from religious leaders.  Cardinal-designate Timothy M. Dolan, the archbishop of New York and president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops stated that the provision "represents a challenge and a compromise of our religious liberty." According to Rabbi Abba Cohen, Agudath Israel’s Vice President for Federal Government Affairs, "this mandate, which is binding on all faith-based entities other than a narrowly confined group of religious institutions, offends First Amendment principles."

The backlash forced President Obama to re-assess the situation and on February 10, 2012 he changed his position stating the religious institutions don't have to provide for the contraception, but insurance companies do.  To the religious faithful, this only made the issue worse.

The shift in policy is only a shift in who pays, but the violation of conscience still remains.  Regardless of whether the person wants coverage or not, the health insurance provider will fund it, violating the precepts of their faith for millions of Americans.

Observation

The Obama Administration is  pushing through a radical agenda to transform the United States from a nation whose bedrock was in morals and faith.  The Obama regime is reckless in that public opinion, nor conscience are barometers, for how it governs.  The results of the Obama Administration on basic unalienable rights such as the practice of religion is afforded to us by a higher God, and not by our government.  By when the government is too powerful, it can take those rights away forcing the faithful to violate their own faith by being mandating to adhere to a perceived lifestyle created by their own government.

In closing, perhaps the Obama Administration should take a refresher course on the First Amendment.  Perhaps they should remember that the "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Perhaps the Obama Administration review their history books as to why America was colonized.  Look no further than the Plymouth colony in Plymouth, Massachusetts.  For those that forget, it was the English Puritans who settled here because of a conflict with the Church of England.  The violation of religious freedom forced the migration of settlers to American shores in the early 1600s, but where can modern day Americans go under the modern day religious persecution imposed by this regime?

Governor Rick Perry was right.

Jobs: Failure to Deliver

Tomorrow, America will observe the third anniversary of Obama signing the historic "stimulus" package.  The stimulus legislation is historic on many fronts including the failure to keep unemployment below eight percent (as promised), create shovel ready jobs (as promised) and by adding over $1.2 Trillion to the federal deficit.

To highlight this strategic blunder by the White House and Democratic leadership of both chambers of Congress, the Republican Study Group has created a picture perfect depiction of what happened to those jobs.

It is important to note that the above chart, as mentioned by the Republican Study Group, only represents the active "labor force participation rate".  If you notice on the vertical axis, the current (far right point) labor participation rate is only around 63.7 percent.  This means that 36.3 percent of the available labor force is not currently participating.

This brings up a key observation on the reported unemployment figures by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  The current unemployment rate reported by the BLS is 8.9 percent (January 2012).  But be careful, this metric (U3) is based on unemployment benefits trends and does not represent the true unemployment metric.  To get that you will need to look at the total unemployment rate (U6) which is 15.1 percent (January 2012).

So thirty-seven months in, President Obama has failed to get nearly 15.1 percent of the workforce jobs.  And ironically, the January U3 and U6 unemployment metrics match the same unemployment metrics for Obama's full month on the job (February 2009).  So Obama has gone full circle, add over $4.7 trillion to the federal debt and unemployment 37 months later has not moved one inch forward.  But Democrats will call this progress.

Obama Plans Unilateral Disarmament

Yesterday the Associated Press reported that the Obama Administration has drafted several plans to cut the nuclear arsenal by 80%.  Folks, this is just plain and simple unilateral disarmament of the U.S. military to defend the U.S.  This latest news follows the largest plans to cut Department of Defense spending since the Jimmy Carter presidency.

This is just plain treasonous. With current plans underway to cut overall defense spending and expected cuts in the nuclear arsenal are nothing short of intention plans to make America weaker and defenseless.  Simply put, the U.S. military will be gutted by the time Obama is done with it.  How can it survive over a half billion cuts in spending and more than two-thirds in cuts of its nuclear arsenal?  And at a time when the we are still battling Al-Qaeda and rogue nations such as Iran, Venezuela, China and Russia.

If you recall in May 2010, the Obama Administration leaked that the U.S. had a current nuclear arsenal of 5,113.  This count was down from 9,960 reported in 2006.  The continued downward trend of the U.S. nuclear arsenal should be no surprise as President Obama has long called for a "world without nuclear weapons."  While that is a noble and admirable goal, it is only so provided all nations and organization also feel the same way.

Surely Iran, China, Russia and Venezuela are not following suit.  All four have pledged to seek or expand their nuclear weapons potential.

Only President Obama, more than then years after the September 11th attacks on U.S. soil with Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Hamas, the Hezbollah still at work would seek to unilaterally disarm.  Let's be frank here, this is a direct violation of the U.S. Constitution to "provide a common defense".  Surely, the Constitutional scholar and attorney remembers this clause when he became a lawyer, legislator and now President.  But for Obama, this is intentional.

Radio host Rush Limbaugh has been all over this.  Listen to his eloquent rant:

Stop the Insanity

Not one person in the U.S. Congress nor liberal media is willing to admit that the accumulated federal debt is unsustainable.  Not one person, except may Ron Paul.

Karl Denninger at Market-Ticker.org has put out a pretty damning chart that is just down right frightening.  Here is the chart, and then we will discuss what it means.

In his own words, "Over 20 years, from 1980 to 2000, the slope of the line of debt accumulation was approximately 12 degrees.  From 2000 to 2008, or approximately 9 years, it was 26 degrees (more than double the slope over less than half the time) and from 2008 to today it was 64 degrees or again more than double the slope over less than half the time.  Note that this is just the public debt -- the problems in entitlement programs (internal debt) are even worse!"

You see while, Greece is burning (literally), Washington is asleep deciding how to spend our money.  Despite the empty rhetoric (even from the Republicans), there is no serious effort to reign in federal spending.  In the current Presidential race, both current GOP candidate Ron Paul and former Presidential candidate and Governor Rick Perry have outlined ways to reign in spending.  Both have calls for the elimination of at least three federal cabinet agencies.

While Athens burns, and Washington is gathering the kindling NO ONE is even remotely looking at the how our government spends money.  Any sane member of either chamber in Congress would draft legislation on day one of office asking for an independent review of all federal agencies and departments to determine fit or purpose (are they really needed any longer) and what resources (budget allocation, staff, equipment, etc) are required to make them efficient and beneficial to the American public.

With the billions spent on pet earmarks, surely members of Congress can find a thousands ways to cut federal spending without breaking a sweat.  But I am sure as every well-intended member of Congress, the city corrupts and the power overwhelms the desire to do good.

The time to use a scalpel of trying to reign in spending is over.  It has failed.  It's time to bring out the machete.  Because doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results is not working.  Stop the insanity.

Godfrey Bloom: Time for Fiscal Crimes Tribunal

I could not agree more with Godfrey Bloom.

Speech at EU Parliament:

Godfrey Bloom, MEP for UK's Yorkshire Dales region is on the right track.  Sadly he can only speak for the EU.

It is now time for an American Godfrey Bloom to stand up in either chamber of Congress and proclaim the same thing.  It is time that a full investigation to address the HOW, WHY and WHO involved with the 2008 mortgage crisis and overprinting at the Federal Reserve.  The follow as Mr. Bloom suggested and throw them in the slammer until they expire.

Seriously.  Catalog and review every piece of legislation such as the Community Reinvestment Acts of 1997 and 1993; and action by the U.S. Federal Reserve to artificially lower interest rates to support such acts to create housing bubbles.

More than four years after the start of the collapse, the housing sector is no where near where it once once and millions of homeowners have either been forced into foreclosure or see their homes go underwater.  Those homeowners were lied to, deceived at every turn and deserve answers.

Jim Cramer: Obamacare Hurting Hiring in U.S.

Like we didn't see this coming.

CNBC financial anchor of 'Mad Money' Jim Cramer, a known Democrat is turning on Obama.  In an interview on MSNBC 'Morning Joe' stated that he had numerous conversations with CEOs and they will not hire in the U.S. due to the ObamaCare health care reform legislation.

Cramer cited CEOs stating that the U.S. Supreme Court must strike down the law to save the economy and that this legislation is the number one issues facing growth for their firms.  The number one issue.

But of course the White House and Democrats on Capitol Hill are tone deaf.  And that is why the fate of ObamaCare must be decided in the court room.  Only the U.S. Supreme Court can strike this down, and they must if they want to keep America afloat.

CPAC 2012: Bachmann, Bolton Highlight Obama's Foreign Policy Failures

Although the U.S. economy is front and center this election year, U.S. foreign policy still matters.  Former GOP Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton gave strong CPAC speeches on foreign policy.

Bachmann delivers a powerful, strong-worded criticism of President Obama's failed foreign policy.  Bachmann cites numerous blunders by the Obama Administration in promoting the spread of Islam through Shariah law in the Middle East and Africa.  She also correctly hits Obama hard at his destructive tone towards America's strongest ally Israel.

Ambassador Bolton delivers a speech that highlights at what a Reaganite foreign policy would like should conservatives win the White House in 2012.  Here is hoping.

Film Preview: The Last Eagle Scout

Conservative Hollywood has invaded politics.

Independent film producer and director Kels Goodman, who also happens to be a real-life Boy Scouts of America Scoutmaster creates a dramedy (drama-comedy) on how political correctness can go overboard.

While the Boy Scouts of America is alive and well in present day America, the film portrays a possible scenario where political correctness and political bias can cause the erosion of society.  Without giving the plot away due to our recommendation to see the film, Big Brother has taken over and everything of 'bodily management' to lack of the First Amendment are evident.

I had the privilege of viewing this film at CPAC 2012, and a release date should be announced soon.  In the mean time, enjoy this teaser trailer.

Keep your eyes peeled for the release date and go see this film.

CPAC 2012: Sarah Palin Delivers

Former Alaska Governor and 2008 Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Palin was the closing keynote speaker at CPAC 2012.  As expected, her speech was loaded with red meat for attendees at the convention and surely caused numerous liberal heads to explode.

Watch the speech:

Following the CPAC speech, Sarah Palin went on the Sunday news talk show circuit discussing the 2012 Presidential race.  In an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, Palin stated she was 'not convinced Romney is a conservative.

CPAC 2012: The Governors

While much of the attention this electoral season has been on the race for the White House, Governors have been an untold success story.  In the 2010 election, the number of Republican Governors increased from twenty-two to twenty-nine.  The story just does not end there.

Whether it is ... Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) who has fought to protect the rights of the unborn including signing the landmark legislative bills to require sonograms before an abortion and the de-funding of Planned Parenthood in Texas. Or Governor Bill McDonnell (R-VA) who along with Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) started the conservative wave by regaining the Governor's mansion in Virginia.  Or Governor Scott Walker (R-WI) who signed landmark legislation to slash the states bloated budget by $30 million and eliminate collective bargaining for government unions.  Or Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA) who stood up to President Obama during the BP oil spill and brought Louisiana back to life.  Or Governor Rick Scott (R-FL) who is fighting to bring Florida' economy back to life by dredging to increase the Port of Miami and requiring drug testing for welfare benefits recipients.

All five of the Governors are a testament to embracing and implementing conservative principles to make their states competitive again.  Through leaner governments, states' rights and free-market principles these and the rest of Republican Governors give a beacon of hope to millions of Americans while Washington fails to deliver.

All five took the time out of their busy schedules to share their success stories at CPAC 2012 in Washington.  Watch and listen.  Be inspired and if you live in a state currently not run by a Republican Governor, fight like hell to get one.  You deserve it.

A Warning for America

British MEP Daniel Hannan has been waiving the caution flag on socialism not only as a member of the European Parliament, but also to America.  Hannan, a member of UK's Conservative Party like many conservatives here in America see the threat of the rapid embrace of socialism and encroachment of government eroding individual liberty and freedom.

Thanks to the American Conservative Union, sponsor of CPAC, Hannan shared his dire warning to thousands of Americans attending CPAC 2012, the largest gathering of conservatives.  As in numerous media interviews on Hannity and YouTube, Hannan is not shy of being bold and direct in his fear of one's enslavement to government.

At CPAC, Hannan spoke twice - once at a panel specifically on The European Debt Implosion: Is America Next? and once before thousands on the main stage in the Marriott Ballroom.

Mr. Wade Goes to Washington

Declared U.S. Senate candidate Kevin Wade (R-DE) who is challenging long time U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) attended CPAC 2012, the largest gathering of conservatives in Washington late last week.

While at CPAC, Wade took advantage of the numerous networking and media opportunities by being interviewed by TeaParty.net's Kevin Jackson. A video of this interview is forthcoming, but surely this interview on the national stage is the first of many to come.

Wade's attendance at CPAC signifies his determination to be the 60th vote needed to retard the liberal assault on America.  A small business owner, Wade will bring Main Street to K Street.  An engineer, Wade is armed to provide solutions learned by decades traveling the world helping global firms become more efficient and innovative to a broken Washington in dire need of a tune up.
