Jobs: Failure to Deliver

Tomorrow, America will observe the third anniversary of Obama signing the historic "stimulus" package.  The stimulus legislation is historic on many fronts including the failure to keep unemployment below eight percent (as promised), create shovel ready jobs (as promised) and by adding over $1.2 Trillion to the federal deficit.

To highlight this strategic blunder by the White House and Democratic leadership of both chambers of Congress, the Republican Study Group has created a picture perfect depiction of what happened to those jobs.

It is important to note that the above chart, as mentioned by the Republican Study Group, only represents the active "labor force participation rate".  If you notice on the vertical axis, the current (far right point) labor participation rate is only around 63.7 percent.  This means that 36.3 percent of the available labor force is not currently participating.

This brings up a key observation on the reported unemployment figures by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  The current unemployment rate reported by the BLS is 8.9 percent (January 2012).  But be careful, this metric (U3) is based on unemployment benefits trends and does not represent the true unemployment metric.  To get that you will need to look at the total unemployment rate (U6) which is 15.1 percent (January 2012).

So thirty-seven months in, President Obama has failed to get nearly 15.1 percent of the workforce jobs.  And ironically, the January U3 and U6 unemployment metrics match the same unemployment metrics for Obama's full month on the job (February 2009).  So Obama has gone full circle, add over $4.7 trillion to the federal debt and unemployment 37 months later has not moved one inch forward.  But Democrats will call this progress.

Jim Cramer: Obamacare Hurting Hiring in U.S.

Like we didn't see this coming.

CNBC financial anchor of 'Mad Money' Jim Cramer, a known Democrat is turning on Obama.  In an interview on MSNBC 'Morning Joe' stated that he had numerous conversations with CEOs and they will not hire in the U.S. due to the ObamaCare health care reform legislation.

Cramer cited CEOs stating that the U.S. Supreme Court must strike down the law to save the economy and that this legislation is the number one issues facing growth for their firms.  The number one issue.

But of course the White House and Democrats on Capitol Hill are tone deaf.  And that is why the fate of ObamaCare must be decided in the court room.  Only the U.S. Supreme Court can strike this down, and they must if they want to keep America afloat.

Obama's Outsourcing of America

For being the President of the United States, President Obama is anything but a support of the United States.  For the second time in two weeks, Obama has touted foreign business over American business.  Last week while gallivanting in Brazil, Obama touted Brazilian oil.  Not once since he assumed the Presidency has Obama touted American oil development.

And when last year's BP oil spill occurred, the Obama administration pulled all American drilling permits further enslaving America to foreign oil.  A sign that Obama does not want America to be energy independent.

Today Obama visited a Pennsylvania wind turbine manufacturer outside Philadelphia.  Obama's visit to Gamesa's  Fairless Hills plant should raise concern.  Gamesa is a Spanish wind turbine manufacturer.  How ironic that Obama could not even pay a visit to the GE Wind Energy division of General Electric, which has a plant in Connecticut.

Nordic Windpower is another American wind turbine manufacturer, based in Kansas City, Missouri.  Northern Power Systems is another another American wind turbine manufacturer, based in Vermont.  PacWind, based in Torrance, California is another manufacturer.  Add Flagstaff, Arizona based Southwest WindPower to the list.

What is alarming is that a simple Google search revealed five American wind turbine manufacturers that Obama could have promoted, but he had to touted a Spanish one.  So much for touting American business!

For a President who has a Energy Secretary, what use is this department if America cannot develop energy? And the hypocrisy of Team Obama supporting American business, and jobs!  Yeah right!

Russia: Obama Signed Away Missile Defenses

Earlier today, Newsmax broke a story (albeit under-reported) that Russia states that Obama signed away the U.S.'  right to missile defense.  According to the author, Russia's parliament states that the ratification of the START treaty prevents the U.S. from developing future missile defense systems.  Of course, Washington disagrees.

The exact wording of the treaty includes “interrelationship between strategic offensive arms and strategic defensive arms”.  This word and direct connection to strategic offensive and strategic defensive arms should raise concerns that the ratification by the U.S. Senate, violates the U.S. Constitution.  Specifically, the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution calls for the U.S. government to 'provide for the common defence' (spelling correct for writing of U.S. Constitution).

The allegations made by Russian leaders (see Newsmax article) should bring pause to the U.S. judicial branch, who has authority to review the ratification of the treaty (pursuant to Article III, Section II of the U.S. Constitution).  Thorough review of the treaty and its components must be done to ensure that the U.S. continues to have the liberty to ensure we can defend its citizens, property and interests around the world.

What President Obama and the Democrats in the U.S. Senate fail to realize that that agreeing to such a treaty is not about securing a political victory.  Agreeing to such a treaty must always center around whether it will allow for the protection of the U.S. and its citizens.  National security must always trump image.

NOTE: As this article was being written, Russia has said NO to this treaty.  While this may be a thumb of the nose against Obama and the Democrats in the U.S. Senate, it is a victory for all Americans.  Let the warnings signs of this article be a reminder that national security must be a priority.

Oh and Delaware, Chris Coons and Tom Carper approved the ratification of the START Treaty.  Remember that the next time you have an opportunity to vote.

R. Lee Ermey urges Americans to fight Socialism

R. Lee Ermey, and retired U.S. Marine drill instructor and actor in the GEICO commercial has a few words for Americans on the state of the U.S. economy and where we are headed.  In doing a promotion for Toys for Tots he said that this year was problematic due to the sluggish economy.

"We are having a big problem this year (with toy donations).  The economy really sucks.  And I hate to point figures at anybody, but the present administration probably had a lot to do with it.  And the way I see it, they are not going to quit doing it until they bring this country to its knees.   So I think we should all rise up an we should stop this administration from what they are doing   because they are destroying this country.  They are driving this country into bankruptcy so they can impose Socialism on us, and that is exactly what they are doing.  I am sick and tired of it, and know you are too..."
